Have You Ever?

Have you ever wondered about God? I think we all have. As children, we ask our parents, if God made us, then who made God? Even as adults, many of our questions remain unanswered. I believe that is because God is a Spirit. A Spirit that loved us so much that He chose to identify with His creation and come to us in the same form as we come - a baby. Jesus. A baby, just like us, but not like us. His Father was the Creator of all we can see, and all we can only glimpse in a telescope. God in a baby? Incredible, isn't it? I can envision Him those many years ago, and it is never like I thought. He should have definitely been born in the finest castle in the world with the finest linens, the finest food, the most loveliest of settings, fit for a King. But God is a Spirit and God said, His ways, His thoughts are not ours, they are NOT human. God's thoughts always have a different angle - they are unselfish, pure, full of truth, a purpose like nothing we could ever conjure. So, Jesus was born in a manger - an animal's food bowl, for goodness sake! I wonder what it would have been like to have seen Him as a small child, a teen, a young man? The words He spoke are recorded in a book, The Bible. The Bible tells us a little of what Jesus spoke, and a lot of it remains a mystery. One thing, however, He made perfectly clear. Have you ever wondered about heaven and hell? Jesus spoke many times about this subject. It was important to Him, it has always been important to me. Where will I spend the rest of my life? Not here, not on this planet, something inately tells me that. This is NOT all there is. Look up at space. This is not our end, it is only our beginning. So, have you ever asked, what next? Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life. The life? Yes, He came to earth to bring us real life, life full of peace and joy in the midst of our sorrows. Then what? Jesus said, I will go and prepare a place for you, that where I go, you may come. Have you ever wondered how you can be sure to go with Jesus to a life beyond this earth? John 3:16 was told to me as a small child and it is just as real today as it was the very first time I heard it, For God (not anything to do with us) SO LOVED the world (that's you and that's me) that He GAVE, His only begotten son (Jesus), that whosoever (that's you and me) believeth on Him, should not perish, but have everlasting (eternal) life. I want that. I want that life now and after this one. Don't you? Just ask Him. Have you ever?
